đ 5 Crucial Tips for Job Interviews

Iâve interviewed 200+ applicants in the last two years. Hiring is a crucial part of my business.
Hereâs what I look for throughout the interview process.
Preparation
The first question I ask to every interviewee is âWhat research have you done about our company?â
Itâs a major red flag if they donât know anything about the company theyâre applying for. To me, it means theyâre not serious about the job opportunity.
Communication Skills
The ability to speak clearly and concisely is not as common as you might think. I see tons of applicants who ramble.
Keep an eye out for applicants who âtalk without saying anything.â Their sentences are loaded with filler words and phrases, and they never say anything meaningful. Red flag.
Smiling
Who doesnât love a person who is smiling and happy! I know I do. If an applicant doesnât crack a smile once throughout the interview, thatâs probably not someone I want to work with.
Enthusiasm
This one goes hand-in-hand with smiling. I want people on my team who are energetic and excited. Energy is contagious! So is a Negative Nancy. I want to enjoy working with my team and donât want to work with boring, monotone people. Itâs your company. You can choose to work with whoever youâd like!
Everything Else
I donât touch on crucial topics like experience, intelligence, compensation expectations, etc. because those are the main topics of each interview. Preparation, communication skills, smiling, and enthusiasm are non-traditional flags (either green or red) that I look for when hiring.
