In 2023, my company, Greenbox Storage, had two full-time employees and earned $518,000 in revenue.

How can you afford to hire so many employees?

I’m a huge advocate for hiring offshore talent. If you limit yourself to domestic employees, you’re missing out on major opportunities to hire world-class talent from other countries.

Here is Greenbox Storage’s employee breakdown by country:

The Philippines: 5 employees

Pakistan: 3 employees

Mexico: 1 employee

United States: 1 employee

The cost of living is significantly less in these countries, especially Pakistan and the Philippines.

Here is what my employees earn compared to the average wage in their country:

Accounting and Financial Analyst: $3.75 / hour (~3.5x average wage in Pakistan)

Marketing Manager: $4.25 / hour (~2x average wage in Philippines)

Software Developer: $6.41 / hour (~6x average wage in Pakistan)

Customer Support Specialist: $6.41 / hour (~3x average wage in Philippines)

Campus Supervisor: $12 / hour (~2.6x average wage in Mexico)

Many people see $3.75 / hour and immediately scream “exploitation!”.

These people are wrong. $3.75 / hour is an incredible wage in Pakistan.

So by hiring overseas, I can hire more employees, grow my business faster, and provide my service to more people domestically.

It’s a win-win!

How did you determine which positions you needed?

My job as CEO is to put the pieces in place for the company to be successful.

Last year was chaos.

As CEO, I was doing far too many jobs and I was holding the company back.

I decided to “fire myself” from the following roles:

  • Marketing

  • Sales

  • Intern management

  • Customer service

  • Bookkeeping

I also realized that we needed to develop a lot of technology to take this company to the next level.

So I decided to hire experts in each of these fields!
