The Tools I Use to Run My $500,000 Company

I run my company 100% remotely.
With 38 employees and $500,000 in revenue, this is no simple task.
Here's how we manage it all.
For a little background, my company is called Greenbox Storage.
We provide a pickup and delivery summer storage service for college students.
We pick up their items in the spring, store their items over summer break, then drop-off their items when the get back to campus for the fall semester.
It’s a unique business model.
Our business relies on college student interns.
We hire a Business Development Intern and Marketing Intern at each college campus / branch of Greenbox Storage we launch.
The interns receive:
Resume boost
Business experience
Solid paycheck (anywhere from $20-45 / hour)
By hiring more interns, we expand our company.
But how do we manage everything?
Check this out.
We use a platform called Connecteam to manage our on-campus employees.
It allows us to:
Track employee work hours
Receive "End of Shift" forms from employees
Share training material (videos and quizzes)
Create branch group chats
Organize employment documents
And A LOT more. It's really nice.
We also track the weekly performance of each branch.
Based on their weekly performance, we provide them a bonus.
This information is submitted via End of Shift forms on Connecteam.
But we also have six full-time employees.
Here's how I manage them:
Connecteam (for hour logging, shift forms, etc.)
Slack (for consistent communication)
Vonage (for texts and phone calls)
Zoom
Breezy HR (recruiting)
In this day and age, it's extremely realistic to run a business 100% remotely.
There are tons of tools out there, but these ones work for me and my company!
Cheers,
Collin Rutherford
