Technology is crucial for any modern business. If you don’t elevate your business with tech, you will struggle to have real success. Here is exactly why you need to use technology.
Reduce Repetitive Tasks
Let’s say your run a landscaping company. Each time you land a new client (nice!), you need to whip up Microsoft Word and enter:
Client name
Pricing of your service
Details of service
Your signature
Then you have to find the email address of the client, attach the contract to an email, write the email, send the email, then wait for the client to sign and return the contract.
YIKES, not so fun. Now imagine doing that 40x per week. That takes a lot of time!
Here’s what you do instead
You use Zapier.com or hire an inexpensive overseas software developer (see my guide for hiring offshore talent) to create this new system:
Enter client name
Select pricing package
Press send
Then you get a notification once the contract is signed.
DONE. Three manual steps. Everything else is done for you.
(Sound too good to be true? This is a real-life example of how my friend transformed his landscaping business. They’re doing $1,000,000+ annual revenue now.)
Reduce Employee Count (and Payroll)
Another benefit of building technology is that it saves you money. At a certain point, invoicing would become a full-time job for that landscaping company.
Now, with this new automated system, they don’t need to hire an employee to complete this task because it takes 45 seconds instead of 10 minutes. Reinvest that money in the business!
Efficient Communication with Customers
Using Zapier.com (or building your own tech) makes it easy to provide customers updates. Sending manual texts to each customer is a major waste of time. These text / emails should be automated.
Here are some automated text / email examples:
