📈 How to Stand Out on Social Media

Make Your Time Count

Do you ever feel like the wrong people go viral on social media?

They post memes and selfies and get thousands of impressions.

Meanwhile, every post you create is packed with value, showcasing your expertise and keeping your audience engaged.

And yet, crickets.

Frustrating? Absolutely. But I have good news:

You don’t need millions of followers to build a powerful and profitable personal brand.

You just need a strategy that works for you, not against you.

If you’re building your personal brand, this is what I’d do right now:

1. Post Less, But Make It Count

Quality beats quantity.

Posting five times a day won’t matter if your content is forgettable.

Instead, focus on creating “bookmarkable” posts that resonate with your audience.

Ask yourself:

  • Does this educate, entertain, or inspire?

  • Would I stop scrolling for this?

  • Is this something my audience would share or save?

If the answer is no, don’t post just for the sake of posting.

Instead, refine your message and make it impactful.

2. Batch Your Content Like a Pro

Nobody wants to wake up every day and think:

“What do I post today?”

Instead, set aside time once a week (or once a month) to create and schedule your content in batches.

At FounderBrands, our clients meet with their Content Manager for one-hour per month.

The CM uses the content from that interview to create posts for the entire month.

It’s that easy (check us out).

This is how you can make it easier:

  • Plan topics in advance. Write down 10-15 ideas that align with your expertise.

  • Use templates. Take ideas from popular posts and save them in Notion for easy editing.

  • Schedule everything. Use tools like Metricool to schedule out your posts.

Yes, trends can get you more views.

But that doesn’t mean you need to dive into politics or current events.

Instead, find ways to adapt trends to your brand.

  • If a trending topic relates to your industry, add your take.

  • If there’s a viral format, use it with your message.

  • If you’re funny, lean into humor. But only if you’re comfortable in that department.

Stay relevant without forcing it.

Authenticity > trend-chasing

4. Engage Like a Human (Not a Bot)

Social media is a two-way street.

If you post and disappear, don’t expect engagement.

Reply to comments, DM your followers, and genuinely connect with your audience.

The more you engage, the more the algorithm rewards you.

And make it valuable! “Great post” does nothing.

Plus, real conversations build trust, which leads to more followers, customers, and loyal fans.

5. Repurpose, Don’t Reinvent

You don’t need to create brand-new content for every platform.

Take one good idea and repurpose it:

  • Turn a long-form post into a carousel

  • Break a video into short clips

  • Take a popular X post and turn it into an Instagram post

Smart creators reuse content.

Don’t make it harder than it has to be.

The Takeaway

You don’t have to spend your entire life on social media to grow your brand.

By focusing on high-quality content, planning ahead, engaging with your audience, and repurposing smartly, you can stand out without burning out.

And if you’re still not gaining traction, take a look at who you’re speaking to.

Are you trying to talk to everyone?

If so, you may need to refocus on a smaller audience.

Niching down isn’t a bad thing. Especially on social media.

I wrote about the power of niching down last week.

Now, go create something worth scrolling for.
